Unexpected financial hardship
Amanda’s brother and sister-in-law died unexpectedly in an auto accident. They left two little girls behind, and Amanda became their legal guardian. Facing the unexpected expense of raising two girls, Amanda relied on credit cards.
“Even though I had managed to sit down and figure out how much it cost to have two children...I had all this other debt that I had accrued during that time, and I couldn't even figure out how to get on top of it, let alone bring that number down to a place where I felt like I was even making any progress.”
Personal financial assessment
Amanda called FreedomPlus about a loan. When a loan consultant looked at her financial picture and listened to her goals, they saw she was unlikely to qualify for a loan she could afford. They explained that Freedom Debt Relief might fit her needs better.
“The more we talked, the more I understood… letting myself have faith that together, working with the different people from within the company, we could find the best solution for me in the long-term.”
On the path to debt freedom
A debt consultant explained how Freedom Debt Relief could reduce her debt and resolve her enrolled debt faster, at a monthly program payment she could afford. Amanda enrolled in the program and received her first settlement in about 5 months.
“The person that I talked to was patient, and he explained things really well. He answered all my questions, and I felt the longer we had talked, I felt like I understood my options and how the program would work. I really believed that there was that light at the end of the tunnel.”
Faster progress towards financial health
Amanda continued to make her Freedom Debt Relief deposits for 3 more months. Because of her consistent payment history, we offered her a fixed-rate acceleration loan through Consolidation Plus. She had just earned a raise at work and could afford the monthly loan payments. These funds enabled us to settle her debts sooner.
“It felt really right, and I felt good. I felt this was progress in the right direction...once I sat down and did the math with all of our other bills and stuff, it was like, "Yeah, let's just do that and then keep moving forward."
Confident and moving forward
“Even though I had originally looked at something different, I felt glad that I had chosen this company because I felt they had pointed me in the direction that was best for me in the long-term...I just knew that I had gotten on the path that was the best.”
“In thinking about the girls and their future, I want to be a good example for them of someone who saved, and was responsible, and didn't just accumulate debt...It's going to be on me to be the one to be an example for them, and I want to be a good one.”

Debt relief disclosure: Our estimates are based on prior results, which will vary depending on your specific enrolled creditors and your individual program terms. Not all clients are able to complete their program for various reasons, including their ability to save sufficient funds. We do not guarantee that your debts will be resolved for a specific amount or percentage or within a specific period of time. We do not assume your debts, make monthly payments to creditors or provide tax, bankruptcy, accounting or legal advice or credit repair services. Our service is not available in all states, including New Jersey, and our fees may vary from state to state. Please contact a tax professional to discuss potential tax consequences of less than full balance debt resolution. Read and understand all program materials prior to enrollment. The use of debt settlement services will likely adversely affect your creditworthiness, may result in you being subject to collections or being sued by creditors or collectors and may increase the outstanding balances of your enrolled accounts due to the accrual of fees and interest. However, negotiated settlements we obtain on your behalf resolve the entire account, including all accrued fees and interest. C.P.D. Reg. No. T.S.12-03825.
